For the crystals of nylon-6 and nylon-6,6 that the end surface was adsorbed by calciumrnions, the end surface free energy per unit area, se, was predicted from DSC data. T_m~0 (T_m at ζ=rn∞) should be near or not so far from the end temperature of melting peak for the crystals withoutrnthe adsorption of calcium ions, where ζ is the crystal length. The heat change per molarrnstructural unit at the melting transition, Q_m, in the heating process along the zero entropyrnproduction path is the latent heat arisen from the ζ distribution.
