Techniques for Developing Pen Tablet Aided Instruction Applications

This paper reports an e-pen-whiteboard application helping to improve classroom teaching. It enables teaching in a manner mimicking the traditional chalkblackboard, which has been widely preferred by teachers and proved to be the best scheme to transfer knowledge and ideas in classroom teaching. The paper presents major techniques, main functions and data structures WinTab specification provides, for developing an e-pen-whiteboard application, as well the key programming issues, such as cursor positioning, pressure sensing, erasers, and Express Keys programming. In the end, the paper shows our design and implementation of one e-pen-whiteboard application.
