COMPUTER ETHICAL HACKING: AN EDUCATION PERSPECTIVE

As technology advances, the security of hardware andrnsoftware also needs to advance. As the use of the Internetrnincreases, the amount of cybercrime being committedrnalso increases. In order to combat cybercrime, the usernof safe computing practices, including safe passwords,rnsecure Internet behavior, and following U.S. Governmentrnstandards that regulate the use of the Internet is needed.rnHowever, this is not enough. Security professionals arernneeded to consult companies, government organizations,rnand universities in order to safeguard their networks. Inrnorder to produce more security professionals, universitiesrnand community colleges have composed new programs tornfocus on computer security and information assurance. Inrnorder for these programs to be effective, universities andrncommunity colleges also need to teach ethical hacking.rnIn this research work, we will analyze research effortsrnthat address the problem of computer ethical hacking. Wernwill identify and discuss different issues surrounding therneducation of ethical hacking that address critical aspects ofrncomputer security and information assurance in academicrnenvironments.
