This paper was mainly about the character of PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol)-degrading enzyme, the optimum reaction conditions of PVA-degrading enzyme were obtained by evaluating activity and degradation rate of PVA-degrading enzyme as follows: pH 8.0, reaction time for 3h and temperature at 30 ℃. The PVA-degrading enzyme was applied to the desizing process of polyester/cotton fabric. The results showed that BOD/COD of PVA-degrading enzyme desizing wastewater was 0.412 with good biodegradability.
