TDM Operation of an Optically Synchronized Low-Cost Coherent Receiver Fed with Mice

We investigate the all-optical locking capability of a coherent receiver based on an externally modulated laser. The fast frequency tracking of injection-locking is exploited to synchronize this simplified homodyne receiver even through short-lived data flows. Experimental evidence is provided for reception of TDM-based OFDM signals modulated on independent optical carriers.
