The Transversal Flux Machine is a low speed and high torque machine concept for gearless transmissionrnsystems. In the simplest rotating form the stator is composed of a ring coil enclosed by U-shapedrnflux conducting parts, forming the machine’s stator poles. The rotor is equipped with a correspondingrnamount of magnetic poles, excited by permanent magnets. Therefore the Transversal Flux concept isrnsimilar to the concept of a single phase permanent excited synchronous machine. The uncomplicatedrnelectrical setup of the machine causes a very complex magnetic design. A high amount of small partsrnhas to be connected in a nonconductive and nonmagnetic way. A new approach for the presentedrnfunctional model was chosen by realization of the mechanical torque transfer structure as an epoxyrnresin cast part, containing all parts of the corresponding main component.
