To Strengthen the Monopolization of Edible Salt, To Guarantee the Supply of Iodized Salt and To Guarantee the Healthy Development of the Work On Sustainable Elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorders

Countries around the world have fully aware of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) and its hazard, and have adopted all kinds of measures for prevention and cure. After years of exploration and practice, China made out a comprehensive prevention and cure measure taking the universal salt iodization (USI) as the core, and obtained great achievements, which United Nations Children's Fund and other related organizations of UN have highly praised, as “the model of the world”, “a milestone achievements”, and promoted China's experiences to other countries. The author has been engaged in the supply work of iodized salt for many years, and experienced the course of USI to eliminate IDD in Hebei province, and would like to share some ideas with the colleagues in this industry.
