The rise in university technology transfer andrnlicensing activities has overstretched the human andrnfinancial resources of the Licensing and TechnologyrnManagement offices of many US universities. Thisrnresearch proposes a framework to guide thernuniversity technology licensing office's personnel tornproperly predict and identify which of theirrnuniversity's intellectual properties, inventions orrntechnology discoveries have an above averagernlicensing and commercialization potential, so limitedrnhuman and financial resources could be allocated forrnthe pursuit of truly important breakthroughrndiscoveries.rnThis research will identify the decision factors andrndeterminants that influence or impact the licensingrnand commercialization of university technologies,rndetermine their relative importance, identify the mostrncurrent and up to date technology selection criteriarnused by the most influential corporate technologyrnlicensing professionals, and develop a framework tornassist in the assessment of the potential viability ofrnthe university's technologies for licensing andrncommercialization.
