The optical properties of human maxillary sinus mucosa were measured in the wavelength range 400-2000 run. The measurements were carried out using the commercially available spectrophotometer with the integrating sphere. The inverse adding-doubling method has been used to determine the absorption and reduced scattering coefficients from the measurements. Diffusion of Methylene Blue in the mucous tissue has been studied in vitro and value of the diffusion coefficient of Methylene Blue in the tissue has been estimated at 20℃ as (4.77 ± 2.9) x 10~(-7) cm~2/sec.
