Abstract: This paper deals with the relationship between the charge-mass ratio of fog drops which moves in the electrostatic field and the dynamical parameters of it in theory and so on. Then a correlative mathematic model of that is established, and therefore, the formula is set up which is using the depositing length and velocity of the fog drops whish in the depositing cavity to determine the charge-mass ratio of it. Based on this, a new method for measuring the charge-mass ratio of the fog drops by laser is presented. The method contains: electrostatic diluting of the density of the fog drops, measuring the depositing length of it by using 2D CCD, measuring the speed of it by using LDV and giving the result by a computer after processing data. This method provides a new type of testing method with both simplicity and high precision for quantitative research such as electrostatic precipitation and metalikon, electrophotography, cloud physics and so on.!5
