This study proposed the reliability analysis of a wellheadrnplatform in Al Shaheen Block 5 Project. The reliability,rnoptimal maintenance period, and appropriate redundancyrnpolicy were acquired by taking the failure rate of eachrncomponent and methods from OREDA and PDS. The PDS is arnmethod used to quantify the reliability of computer-basedrncontrol and safety systems. The probability of failure onrndemand (PFD) was estimated for each safety function. Thernsafety integrity level (SIL) of the overall system was evaluatedrnto quantify failure risks. The SIL evaluation was applied tornjudging whether the reliability of process shutdown (PSD)rnfunctions of the present system was properly configured. Inrnparticular, the shutdown functions of the flare system and wellrnisolation satisfied the minimum SIL requirement by IECrngeneral recommendation.
