It is well accepted both by leading software practitioners and academia that structured usability engineering (UE) approaches are required to build interactive systems with high usability. Therefore a number of UE process models have been developed to address the special problems encountered in developing interactive systems. However, surveys indicate that UE methods are still poorly established in industrial software development projects. We present an organizational learning approach that supports the integration, establishment and continuous improvement of UE methods in software development projects.
