Because dopamine can form inclusion complexes with cyclodextrin, a selectivity advantage is achieved through the formation of such complexes, thereby changing the charge transfer properties and stability of dopamine. This work studied the interaction of dopamine-cyclodextrin on a carbon paste electrode formed with different membranes at different experimental conditions such as concentrations of perchloric acid and p-cyclodextrin. The electrochemical response of dopamine shows that as the concentration of perchloric acid increases in the system, the heterogeneous rate constant increases, aside that when the concentration increased to 2M, the process became controlled by adsorption, unlike others that were diffusion-controlled processes.
