Gifford Studios is a 1600 m{sup}2 office designed by, and for the use of, UK multi-disciplinary consulting engineers Gifford, in conjunction with architects Design Engine. The building is located at the practice's headquarters campus in the New Forest on the UK south coast and comprises a reception, training room, staff dining facilities and two large open plan technical design studios. As funders, owners and users of the building the project gave the practice a unique opportunity to examine the issues surrounding the delivery of a low energy 'sustainable' building in a commercial context.
