The Rational Approach to contemporary planning in Iran (1940 to present) The inner city of Tehran

摘要

To summarize, according to exigency of post-war years, systematic and rational planning were the main and prevalent approaches in western countries. These approaches still are the main views in many countries particularly developing countries, but as these approaches failed in some developed countries , the important role of citizens and their intervention have become more ostensible and the right of participation and decision making for citizens has been considered. In this article regarding to the term of planning for Tehran we can see how socioeconomic conditions in Iran have shaped this metropolis in a special way and how planning in Iran tried to solve and confront Tehran's problems and complexities ,then one case study from inner city of Tehran will be surveyed. Finally the article comes to this fact that to provide plans with people's participation the basic changes in cultural - social and economic conditions also in power are compulsory.
