Numerical Simulation of X-ray in-line Phase-contrast Imaging

A deterministic model based on Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction is proposed here to simulate X-ray in-line phase-contrast imaging. At first, a breast tissue-like sample with sharp edge is illuminated under our model by using a focal spot and polychromatic source and a finitely spatial resolution detector. The lateral coherence length and Gauss distribution function are introduced into our simulation model, in view of the finite source and detector. Then, experimental results were showed and compared with the simulation results. The great consistency between simulations and experiments shows validity of our simulation model in practical application.
