Single-electron reduction potentials (E~1_7) of nitroaromatic compounds are usually obtained by means of pulse radiolysis and flash-photolysis. In the present study we present an alternative method of their estimation, based on the linear log (rate constant) vs. E~1_7 dependences in single electron reduction of nitroaromatics by flavoenzymes electrontransferases. The current approach enabled us to characterise the E~1_7 values of 10 previously uncharacterized nitroaromatic compounds, including explosives
