Nitrocellulose granules are used for the production of smokeless powders or solid rocket propellants. The application of nitrocellulose and ammonium perchlorate granules for formation of solid rocket propellants (composite modified double base propellants) using loading method was presented. The influence of energetic plasticizer type (nitroglycerin, N-butylnitroxyethylnitramine. diethylene glycol dinitrate) on properties of propellants was determined. The thermochemical and termodynamical properties were calculated based on the bulk density of mixtures contain nitrocellulose and ammonium perchlorate granules. The propellants' samples were characterized by optical microscope and thermogravimeter. The characterized samples show sufficient thermal stability in terms of the safety of manufacturing process. The dependence of activation energy on conversion degree was divided into three stages and this observation is similar to all obtained propellants ' samples. The studies indicate the possibility of using plasticizers N-butylnitroxyethylnitramine and diethylene glycol dinitrate for composite modified double base propellants, which unlike nitroglycerin, have less negative impact on the human body and are less sensitive to external stimuli.
