Influence of different components on the sensitivity to impact of TATP and HMTD

The influence of different organic solvents and of a soap solution on the impact sensitivity of TATP and HMTD has been investigated. Ethanol present in great quantity desensitizes TATP. Desensitizing of HMTD has not been achieved; lower impact sensitivity has been obtained by adding WD40. The impact sensitivity of TATP and HMTD mixed with a 10% soap solution decreases up to a quantity of 20% of the soap solution and increases afterwards.
