Vapor pressure measurements of melt cast explosives with gas-saturation method

This work is focused on measurements of the vapor pressure of melt cast explosives 2,4,6-Trinitrotoluene (TNT, 1) and 2,4-Dinitroanisole (DNAN, 2) with the gas-saturation method. Values of vapor pressure p_(sat) (at 298.15 K) (1: 0.90 mPa, 2: 0.64 mPa), enthalpy of sublimation Δ_(cr)~gH_m~o(at 298.15 K) (1: 111.6 ±0.6 kJ mot~(-1), 2:110.8+ 0.6 kJmol~(-1)) and enthalpy of vaporization Δ_(cr)~gH_m~o(at 298.15 K) (2: 110.8 ± 0.6 Id mol~(-1) ) were calculated from the experimental results. Quantification of the analytes was performed with VO-GC/MS (1) and HPLC (2) systems. These results are of a great value for the detection of explosives.
