Because of the rapid propagation of wireless devices, Mobile ad hoc Networking (MANET) is considered as an emerging technology. MANET's are more susceptible to attacks because it is lack of centralized monitoring and it has dynamic changing network. In order to detect attacks in MANET, the network activities are analyzed through Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to identify the known and unknown attacks. In this article, an efficient IDS system based on data mining techniques is proposed which detect the suspicious activities in MANET network. Initially, a MANET network is created and the various attacks in the MANET network. The features of those attacks are extracted by using a proposed hybrid firefly with the Genetic algorithm. The extracted features are given to Replicator Neural Network (RNN) which classifies the data. The proposed technique effectively detects different attacks with less complexity in time and speed during classification of attacks.
