Flexible Dual Band T-Shaped Antenna

摘要

This paper presents a dual band antenna. A Pin diode is utilized for reconfiguring the slot antenna. This designed antenna comprises of a folded slot and a stub. The stub length determines the functionality of the antenna in either single or dual frequencies. The operating frequency of the slot and stub are distinct. When a diode is ON (forward biased), the operating frequency of single band is at 2.45 GHz. However, when diode is OFF (reversed biased), the antenna operates is in dual frequency. The antenna is designed using the IsolaFR408HR substrate. Thickness of the substrate is low which makes the proposed structure flexible. This proposed antenna is simulated and can be utilized for wireless body area network (WBAN) band and wireless local area network (WLAN) band.
