摘要

Using the above protocol with the apparatus in reciprocating rolling contact enables us to make a precise observation on the initial process of boundary film formation. The mechanism of increase in h induced by rolling contacts should be clarified in further work. One possibility is that the mechanical action decreases the activation energy of surface diffusion of fatty acid molecules, inducing the crystal growth on the contact surfaces.
