Continuous, on line analysis of equipment lubrication oils can enhance the detection and analysis of particulate and water, provide insight into the type of particulate present and the trend in contamination levels in real time. Vision technology is well suited for particle analysis because it can identify and categorize shapes which can reveal additional information about the source of particles in lubricants. Information on the shape and transparency of particles helps operators assess wear on the equipment and how it might be occurring.
