The TOFPET2 ASIC provides an integrated discriminator and Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) in a single package with a digital readout interface. Predominantly developed for SiPM readout for Time-of-Flight Position Emission Tomography, configurable inputs and thresholds allow the potential use with Multi-Anode Microchannel Plate (MCP) based photomultipliers, such as the Photek MAPMT-228. Results will be presented assessing the TOFPET2 performance as a readout system for the MAPMT228 and other MCP based photon detectors. This includes single photon timing resolution, crosstalk of 1.76 mm pitch anodes and relative channel efficiency for the MAPMT228 and TOFPET2 combined, with attention to the uniformity of response across the detector's active area. In addition, the use of the TOFPET2's Time-over-Threshold charge measurement mode to correct for amplitude walk caused by the MCP detector's broad gain distribution will be demonstrated, improving timing performance by a factor of approximately 2.5.
