摘要

The effect of glass concentration, on the tribological properties of particles reinforced epoxy, was evaluated by means of a reciprocating friction and wear test. The glass was in form of beads or powders and obtained from industrial waste, it was therefore verified the possibility to use this waste to enhance the properties of the resin. This opportunity could lead to a significant money saving in the production of micro particles composite materials and a decrease of environmental contamination. Friction and wear tests were conducted using a ball-on-flat apparatus and resin specimens with different glass dimension and concentration, namely from 5 to 35% of the volume fraction.
