To investigate the seismic performance of steel reinforced high-strength concrete (SRHC) columns, nine specimens with constant span ratio were constructed and tested under simulated earthquake loading. Target concrete strength is 80MPa, and real concrete strength varies from 81.8 to 84.9 MPa. Two factors, that is, stirrup ratio and axial compression ratio, are taken into consideration. The failure pattern and hysteretic curves as well as ductility coefficients of specimens are obtained. Results indicate that specimens with lower axial-load level and higher stirrup ratio exhibited a ductile behavior, as well as an excellent capacity to sustain large inelastic cyclic displacement and ductility of columns decreases with the increasing of axial compression ratio while increases with the increasing of stirrup ratio. By meeting certain requirement of ductility and considering the influence of stirrup volume, the limit values of axial compression ratio of SRHC columns are presented, which can offer reference for seismic design of SRHC columns.
