The latest commercial development step of the SGT5-4000F engines has been introduced to the market in 2010. In 2012 the first engines have been commissioned. Meanwhile several engines are in commercial operation. Operational experience is available for a large range of Wobbe indices and fuel temperatures up to 200°C. Experience with fuel oil operation is available as well, including online fuel change over from gas to oil and vice versa. Several flexibility features have been developed and introduced to the engines. Operational experience with the engines of the latest upgrade step is described in detail in this paper. The SGT5-4000F is a well established engine with proven technology, high performance, very good reliability and availability, and “best in class” regarding life time cost.
