In the present paper, an automated housing block model is proposed that allows saving electricity and water while facilitating self-generation of energy as ways to make the building self-sustaining. Methodologically, the work combines alternative technologies of self-generation such as: Peak urban-type hydroelectric power plants, photovoltaic systems, slow wind turbines with an exciter system supported by permanent magnets, intelligent elevators, supported by lighting systems with the use of natural light and intelligent elevators. The power generation sources and the support systems are managed with a control system that uses cloud computing applications to facilitate the management of several buildings at the same time. The results show the benefits in terms of self-generation that for some hours of the day allows 100% coverage of the energy demand of the buildings and additionally the possibility of having surplus energy for sale to the network operator.
