In this paper, a millimeter-wave bandpass filter is designed through a computer-aided tuning (CAT) software which is based on vector fitting (VF) to extract parameters. The actual coupling matrix is generated by extracting equivalent circuit parameters from the simulation file utilizing generalized Chebyshev filter characteristic polynomial synthesis, coupling matrix synthesis. The tuning process is assisted by comparing the extracted coupling matrix and the ideal one. An eighth-order bandpass filter with the center frequency at 35GHz is fabricated for verification. The results show that this software has a clear guiding significance for bandpass filter tuning.
