摘要

Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMPs) are a family of structurally related zinc-dependent endo-peptidases that are involved in degradation of extracellular matrices, occurs during tissue remodeling. Furthermore, MMPs are involved in immune related functionssuch as enhancing inflammatory response by activating, releasing cytokines, establishing a chemokine gradient, controlling cell migration by acting as an epidermal barrio, and T cell stimulation. In the present study, we report the sequence informationof novel MMP gene (Ab-MMP) isolated from a cDNA library of disk abalone (Haliotis discus discus) and its immune response towards bacterial and viral challenges.
