For a large interconnected power system, the connections between subsystems are getting closer. The influence of the external area (EA) must be considered when the reliability of the internal area (IA) is analyzed. The equivalent method is widely used in the reliability analysis of interconnected power systems to improve the efficiency of evaluation. This paper proposes a high-accuracy tie-line probabilistic feasible region equivalent model, which replaces the traditional network flow method with the multi-objective optimal power flow. Based on the “not loss of load sharing agreement”, the feasible region states of the equivalent tie line are combined to further simplify the reliability assessment. Simulation results of IEEE 9-bus and IEEE-118 bus systems demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed equivalent model and its effectiveness in reliability assessment.
