The investigation has been conducted to establish the effect of preparation methods on the textural properties, the metal-support interaction of the Co/ZrO_2 catalysts and consequently its influence on Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Coprecipitated Co/ZrO_2 catalyst showed the strongest cobalt-zirconia interaction, the lowest reduction degree, and the lowest catalytic activity. Impregnated Co/ZrO_2 catalyst showed the weakest cobalt-zirconia interaction, the highest reduction degree and the highest catalytic activity, while Co/ZrO_2 catalyst prepared by directly impregnation Zr(OH)_4 with cobalt nitrate solution were in the middle of CZC and CZI. The differences among the three catalysts could be ascribed to the different aging time of the support.
