In this work the noise produced by the coupling of a mean flow with the quarter-wave resonance of a side branch was reproduced computationaly. A series of computations were performed with the dimensions of the main duct and the side branch varied from L/d = 4.2 to 25 and h/d = 0.5 to 3.0. The computations predict the flow-acoustic coupling in the range S_t=0.2-0.6 which is consistent with experimental observations made for numerous different side branch geometries.
