Gradual integration of the criminal law systems of the member states into a coherent european structure

Effective implementation of future strong points of European criminal law largely depends on political decisions of institutions, or subject to conditions and limitations of different nature. The main points of interest are represented by: the legal personality of the Union (already existing in Article 47 TFEU); setting the objective of creating a system of criminal law; procedure for selection of interests is the object of protection through criminal law, including democratic representation; ensuring the protection of persons whose fundamental rights have been violated.
