To improve the output torque and rotational speed tracking accuracy of magnetically suspended flywheel, a novel disturbance rejection strategy was presented based a state observer. By establishing the dynamic model of brushless DC motor, the proposed observer methodology was designed and analyzed. Ultimately, comparative experiments were carried out and researched. The experiments show that the simulation and experimentation results are consistent. With the methodology, the inner disturbance torque is restrained effectively and the output torque and rotational speed tracking accuracy are improved, obviously.
