Artificial helical substituted polyacetylenes have been extensively investigated.Such polymers demonstrate remarkable potential applications in chiral recognition,chiral resolution,asymmetric catalysis,chiral sensors,etc.We prepared microspheres derived from substituted acetylenes via precipitation polymerization.The microspheres were obtained in high yield,regular spheric morphology and narrow size distribution.Such chiral microspheres exhibited optical activity due to the polymer chains constructing the spheres adopted helical structures of predominantly one-handed helicity.The microspheres demonstrated interesting uses in asymmetric catalysis,enantiomer-selectively induced crystallization,etc.
