A 3D numerical model is set up to investigate the aerodynamic performances of a high speed train running on double-track viaducts equipped with windward-side noise barriers. Numerical results show that: with the increase of height of the noise barrier, the windbreak effect of noise barriers is shown and the aerodynamic performances are ameliorated; when the height reach a certain level, with the change of flow structure, aerodynamic forces become lower and tend to be negative; when the height of noise barriers is low, the side force of windward track train is smaller because of the wind protect effect of noise barriers, while the overturning moment is larger than on the leeward track.
