Rare earth (RE) ternary complexes of Eu_(0.5)Ln_(0.5)(NPPD)_3-DPQ (HNPPD = l-(naphthalen-2-yl)-3-phenylpropane-l, 3-dione;;DPQ = Dipyridobenzoquinone;;Ln~(3+) = Nd~(3+), Er~(3+), Ce~(3+), Dy~(3+)), Eu_(1-x)Y_x(NPPD)_3-DPQ and Eu_(1-x)Lu_x(NPPD)_3-DPQ (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9) were svnthesized by the reaction of RECl_36H_2O with HNPPD and DPQ in stoichiometry. The UV-vis and fluorescence properties of the complexes were investigated. The experimental results show that the luminescence efficiency of Eu~(3+) complexes was enhanced by doping some other lanthanide ions.
