Tundish in slab continuous casting process is researched in this paper. Comparing with other corresponding plants, the optimum project is obtained through water simulation. By the application of software of ANSYS-CFX, the best project's flow coupled process with heat transfer is simulated. By the analyses of the flow field, temperature field and the data of RTD curve, this project is proved to be practicable. The distribution of temperature field of the design project is more reasonable and well-proportioned, the dead volume fraction is small and the piston volume fraction is large, so the project is available to removing inclusion from steel. Through industrial practice, it is indicated that the project makes great contribution to decrease inclusions.
