The development of planning tools for the agribusiness supply chain

The supply chain of fresh agricultural products has received a great deal of attention lately due to public health related issues. Something that has become apparent is that the design and operation of agricultural supply chains will be subject to more and closer monitoring in the near future. In this presentation, we focus on the planning models and strategies of the supply chain of highly perishable agricultural products such as fresh produce. In particular we explore the effect of the perish ability of these products on harvesting, transportation and distribution decisions in an integrated planning environment.
