In order to explore the characteristic of flame-spreading over thickness charring fuel sheets under quiescent environments, wood sheets from 1.0 to 3.0 mm thick have been selected as typical charring materials. The behavior of fire spreading over wood sheets has been observed and recorded by using of CCD. The temperature profiles of both surfaces have been obtained by self-made fine thermocouples. In this paper a simple heat transfer model has been advanced.
