STUDY ON COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF BIO-BRIQUETTE

The combustion characteristics of bio-briquette, biomass binder and different rank of raw coal were experimented by SDTQ600 thermo-gravimetric analyzer. The results indicate that the combustion of bio-briquette have both the biomass binder and the raw coal’s combustion characteristics, and it is the synergistic effect of the biomass binder and the raw coal more than the simply addition of them. The combustion characteristic of bio-briquette is superior to that of raw coal. The kinetics of combustion reaction of bio-briquette can be well described by two first-order reactions, and the kinetic parameters have closely relationship with the combustion stage: the activated energy and the frequency factor of the bio-briquette is approximate to that of the biomass binder in the volatile combustion but is evidently lower than that of the raw coal in the fixed carbon combustion.
