This paper summarizes the basic properties of a series of rare-earth zirconate ceramics (Gd_2Zr_2O_7, Sm_2Zr_2O_7, Dy_2Zr_2O_7, Er_2Zr_2O_7 and Yb_2Zr_2O_7). The phases and microstructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Thermal properties of these materials were determined. The results indicated that Sm_2Zr_2O_7 rare-earth zirconate ceramics have the lower thermal conductivity and the highest thermal expansion coefficient than other rare-earth zirconate ceramics. The dielectric constant decreases with the increase of atomic number.
