RESEARCH ON THREE-LAYER PLATFORM OF INTERNET-BASED STRUCTURAL TEST SYSTEM

As the development of Internet technology, information exchange and controlling technique based on long-distance are developed rapidly, which also provides new space for structural test method. By integrating individual laboratories into an Internet- based structural testing system, we can make the large-scaled structural experiment which was only a dream in the past become a reality. But the new method also brings us some new problems. One of them is we must code different edition of testing soft to adapt itself to the varied hardware devices because the drivers of the devices are not always the same. The another problem is it's difficult for a single laboratory to develop a testing soft used for special purpose in contrast that all laboratories related must contribute to the entire system. All of the two problems will increase the burden of the test on us. This paper puts a new platform on internet-based structural testing system which divides the entire system into three layers: Control Layer, Driver Layer and Device Layer. The Control Layer charges the process of the test, the Driver Layer is designed to driver the devices and all the hardware devices makes up the Device Layer. The Control Layer and the Driver Layer communicate with each other by the standard protocol through the internet. Using the new platform, we are not need to revise the testing client which belongs to the Control Layer while we have changed the hardware device. What we only need to do is add the driver to the Driver Layer. Meanwhile, every laboratory is able to code a testing client on them own if they stand by the protocol. So the new platform can give nice solution to the two problems referred. It can bring us tremendous economic and social benefits. This paper develops a whole three-layer platform and the software using the platform for internet-based structural test. At last the paper presents the problems of testing system needed to further research in the near future.
