摘要

This paper describes pseudo-static tests of 3 columns with the same reinforcement. Among the 3 columns, one of them is an ordinary RC column and the other two are RC columns with bounded bars at an anchorage length of 10 times of their diameters. Seismic performance of RC columns with bounded longitudinal bars is mainly discussed, which include member capacity, member failure form, bonding failure form and member ductility. Based on the experiment results, the paper shall discuss whether RC columns with bounded longitudinal bars satisfy the regulations of Chinese code for seismic design of buildings (GB50011-2001). This paper will give some suggestions on improving the seismic performance of RC columns with bounded longitude bars and these suggestions may be used as reference for the application of bounded longitudinal bars technique in retrofitting.
