摘要

Straight-line welded thick steel tube with large diameter has been widely used in the super-high rising structures in recent years. Because residual stress will remain in this kind of members due to welding and manufacturing process, it is essential for engineers to know about the distribution and value of the residual stress in the members before designing this kind of structures. Based on the project of Guan Zhou new television tower, a kind of effective and accurate method named blind-hole method is employed in this paper to measure the longitudinal and circular residual stress in the inner and outer surface of the steel tube. Test results indicated that this kind of method can be used to measure the distribution and value of the residual stress, which can provide scientific reference for structural engineers.
