The Mini-Unmanned Aerial System (Mini-UAS) capability poses a distinct threat to the American Homeland in a variety of chilling concepts of operations (CONOPS), and it poses a major challenge to Homeland Security (HLS) and Homeland Defense (HLD) since (1) our fielded sensors cannot detect Mini-UAS platforms and (2) even very small payloads could have exceedingly grave consequences if they should include weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
