The City of Columbus has historically been experiencing numerous stormwater drainage problems in the 2,800-acre, built-out watershed contributory to the Bliss Run trunk sewer. Development in the area resulted in additional connections and extensions to the Bliss Run trunk sewer causing frequent surcharging of the storm sewer and severe flooding problems in the watershed. CDM has been assisting the city in planning, designing and construction of flood mitigation improvements, including a two- mile long parallel relief trunk sewer (ranging from 84” diameter pipe to 12’x8’ box).
