Measuring errors of Inertial Measuring Unit (IMU) determine the navigation precision of missile. Only testing IMU, can we get the parameters of IMU error mathematics model. Tumble Testing is one of the most important tasks in the procedure of IMU testing. A traditional way is adjusting the testing platform to North firstly, and then placing IMU on platform referring the horizontal surface and North Reference; tumble the IMU 24 times in turn. This way is based on a precise North Reference. Therefore, the traditional way takes more testing costs and more testing time. A new way without North reference for IMU testing is discussed in this paper, and the deducing procedure from IMU error mathematics model is also given.
